Cancer is one of deadly killers of children. Therefore, people are trying to help kids with cancer in many ways. Some people organize charities and others create organizations and clubs. I found an organization called the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Since 1999, St. Baldrick’s has raised more than $220 million for childhood cancer research by inspiring thousands of people to shave their heads. Yes! By shaving their heads! Many “shavees” are kids who shave their heads for St. Baldrick’s. They did it not to only to raise money, but to show support for kids with cancer especially those who often lose their hair during chemotherapy treatments. Chemotherapy treatments keep the cancer cells from growing but has side effects such as hair loss. Kids
