Hollandsworth supported his argument through the use of the following techniques: narratives, testimonies, logical reasoning, appeals to emotion, facts, and an objective tone that attempts to give him credibility. These techniques are used to help persuade his audience of the exploitation of young girls in beauty pageants and the negative effects that pageants will have on their lives. Hollandsworth begins his article with how a typical beauty pageant runs and describes the multiple steps Eden Wood, a pageant contestant, goes through in order to get ready for a competition (490).

He does this after supposedly dying because he believes he loves Buttercup and wants to make sure she lives. Both loyalty and endurance are very evident and important to the story and character development. These qualities are responsible for many scenarios and traits throughout the story and characters. Endurance is one of the most importants traits in The Princess Bride.

However, I’m only going to focus on three main character’s personality traits and dispositions. Such as Buttercup, Westley, and Prince Humperdinck. Buttercup was in love with Westley, the poor farm boy.
A possible theme for The Princess Bride by William Goldman is ¨Love Can Make You Do Crazy Things¨. Throughout both of the two stories that are going on in The Princess Bride, characters are constantly doing crazy things to be reunited or show their love for others in the book. Inigo´s love for his dead father causes him to seek vengeance on the six-fingered man who killed him, and when he later find out that Count Rugen was the murderer, he doesn't hesitate to kill him. ¨ ´ If you say I am, I will seek him through the world.
This week I finished reading The Princess Diaries Give Me Five by Meg Cabot. In this fantastic book, Princess Mia’s dream of going to prom came true. Obviously, the princess encountered many problems involving her boyfriend and high school while trying to attend the prom, but with the help of her Grandmere she made it. “ MICHAEL AND I ARE GOING TO THE PROM!!!!!!!
My whole life I struggled to understand what made reading enjoyable to people. I struggled to focus on the ideas of books. It wasn't until about a year ago I was given a book to borrow from a friend. I saw this friend as a mentor in my life and she felt I needed to read this book. I put off reading the book as long as possible but when I finally started progressing through the book my opinion had been altered.
A Cinderella Story The Cinderella story is a popular archetype that has been present in almost every culture, representing a girl's dream of achieving a happy and wealthy marriage. However, a careful reading of some "Cinderella" folk tales reveals instances of abuse and even incest. In the past, for many girls, the only relief available from abusive households was to marry well. In modern times, some authors present the Cinderella myth in a positive light, while others offer a more feminist interpretation.
Main Idea: I resolutely believe that the message that the author of “Sleeping Ugly” was trying to convey was, real beauty comes from the inside. This is evident in several instances that took place. Right from the beginning, it is stated “Princess Miserella was a beautiful princess if you counted her eyes… but inside… she was the meanest”. This definitely means that, although Miserella looked good to the eyes, her personality was absolutely terrible.
During summer while other kids were outside having fun, i was indoors with my AC on reading different kind of books because of a soccer injury i had. If it wasn 't for that injury i don 't think i would of ever gotten a book on my own. It all started with an injury to a book that became the book that kept me going to find more books to read. The book is called " A Child Called It: One Child 's Courage to Survive" by David Pelzer. Before this i thought all books were boring but this one totally changed my mind.
I read all of the books with her name at the beginning of the title. Reading was a way for me to escape from reality. It’s like I would get lost in the books. I’d spend hours reading. At times I felt like I was the characters in the book.
The book “Princess” written by Jean Sasson tells the life of ‘Sultana’, (The name of the princess, Sultana is a substitute for her real name due to the dangers she could later face if traced) a Saudi princess bounded by a strict society that she says define women nothing more than a tool to fulfill their sexual desires and bearer of their children. “From an early age, the male child is taught that women are of little value: They exist only for his comfort and convenience” (chapter introduction, princess). This book depicts how even the royal woman are beaten, executed and enslaved by their fathers, sons and husbands. It paints a shady image of the Saudi society in our minds showing the different shadows of grays in a colorful pallet. For example the book tells about a Fillipino woman who had shifted to Saudi Arabia to work as a servant in one of the ‘reputed rich families’, later realizing that her duties also consisted of pleasing the employer and his two sons sexually.
