In Daniel Trielli’s article “The Rich Get Richer, The Poor Scramble”, Trielli centralizes his argument around the idea that the struggle of less known news companies is being overshadowed by the growingly more successful top news groups such as The New York Times or Washington Post. Trielli continues in his article discussing how in 2018 this issue is going to become more predominate as technology that is supposed to help smaller companies grow is in reality making it harder. A major factor Trielli brings up that is keeping the top dogs in journalism afloat is the money that they weld. Trielli ends his article with a final thought that while these top dog news groups are well enough, it is necessary for these smaller news groups to stick around to deliver other ideas and stories.
Trielli’s article is short and to the point which I find refreshing admits others that add fluff to article’s meaning to make themselves more credible. I whole heartedly agree with Trielli’s argument and find that he successfully justifies it with facts and statements with little to no unnecessary information.
Using a straight to the point style of writing Trielli was able to write the one page article. He incorporates facts and ideas in a logical order starting with how big companies are staying on top, then on to how the small companies are struggling to gain success. In order to build his credibility Trielli provides links in his article as well as a small information bock at the end of the article which provides a short sentence about Trielli “Daniel Trielli is a journalist and Ph.D. student in media, technology, and society at Northwestern University”. This short sentence also includes a link to further information regarding
