Waking up around one in the morning is what I definetly did not expect or anticipate; however, the reason why I was awoken was all because of Miss Maudie’s house burning to the ground. I was awoke by my father, Atticus. “ Wake up Jem, Miss Maudie’s house is on fire”. I was shocked to hear the news and I bounced out of my bed to the living room. While Father woke up Scout, I tried to stay awake and not fall asleep again. “Whose house is it?” “Miss Maudie’s, hon.” At the front door I watched as flames were shooting out of the inferno of the Maudie house. I was concerned about not only the safety about the Maudie’s, but also our house’s furniture. If we didn 't move it it could catch on fire! “Atticus, reckon we oughta start moving the furniture
