Women being left at stage three of moral development because the need to please others . Psychologist Lawrence Kohlberg studied morality during development and how one is influenced to act and react. Freud told us that women have deficient superegos and therefore deficient consciences. Piaget suggested that women have deficient cognitive capacities. Male gender role models differ from female role models. Male role models teaching from a young age to be rugged and strong. Being ridiculed when standards are not meant.

Historically the definition of masculinity changed with society, but does not derail that biology plays a roll. Masculinity can be examined through the three principles of the biological level of analysis. The first principle being that there are biological explanations for behavior. Cognitive , emotions and behavior are products of the anatomy and physiology of the nervous and endocrine system. men are biologically programmed to form coalitions that aggress against neighbors, and they do so in order to get women, either through force or by procuring resources that would make them more desirable.
