Shooting of Walter Scott occurred on April 4, 2015, in South Carolina. Walter Scott was shot by Michael Slager, a police officer. The police officer was charged with murder after a video contracted the police officer’s report. Which the video showed him shooting the unarmed man from behind. Thanks to the video, justice was made. If it wasn’t for the bystander who filmed the video, Michael Slager would have probably not been guilty.
According to Hughes, body cameras can change human behavior, “these same officers say that cameras also help keep them acting professionally when they are tired and frustrated, and help head off complaints of excessive use of force” (1).
