Stories don’t stay the same throughout there are some ups and downs throughout them. The Body in the Woods has a lot of ups and downs despite knowing that someone is going around killing homeless people. It is the same problems that some people have like what is going to be my next meal, or where am I going to get my next meal? In the chapter, Cry out in Horror, it says “He found them in a little clearing. But Ruby was on the ground. On the ground and unmoving, her face slack. Holding the knife, Becker was leaning over her body. Nick cried out in horror” (Henry, 2014, p.248-249) Nick thought Becker had already killed her. This was a big moment because the author made it seem as if Ruby would never say another word again. Then she added “He …show more content…

Alexis stands their in shock because she thought all hope was lost and I thought the exact same thing. I think the author wanted this intenses moment in her story just to add a little action. Also I think she put this moment in the story to make sure she still had the reader's attention instead of everything being alright and them watching the flock of birds fly over head. You would think that she would put a moment like this in the middle of the story and then it would digress throughout the ending.One moment that made me think everything was going to be alright is when Ruby and Nick were in the hospital. It might sound strange for a good part in the story, but it is a good part in the story because they were still living and weren’t in critical condition. When nick got stabbed it missed that major arteries, veins and the things he needed to live. If becker did it right then Nick would certainly be dead. And Ruby she had some marks but It wasn't bad. She could still breath and it took a little time for the marks to go away and for her to be back to 100% but she finally got back to 100%. Same with nick he has some scars but otherwise he is 100%
