Also, Johnny is like "The Rose That Grew From Concrete" because she had started off life in his concrete stage or his adversity stage with his family, broken free of that when he had saved the kids from the church, and then grown to his rose stage, when he was in the hospital, about to die, talking to Ponyboy when he had matured and developed into an adult.

On July 24, 1701, the oldest city outside of the original thirteen colonies was founded. This city would go on to be one of the more fascinating cities of the United States. Not only is this city home to riveting buildings, such as the only floating post office in America, but it is also home to Motown. This city is Detroit. With the merger of different styles of jazz and blues, Detroit was filled with potential; it wasn’t until Motown, though, that this talent reached a national level.

Frank Ocean once said, “When you 're happy, you enjoy the music. But when you 're sad, you understand the lyrics.” Why does one have to be sad to “understand the lyrics”? Evaluating a song and being given the ability to relate enhances one’s respect for the composer. For example, when one first listens to “Danny’s Song” by Kenny Loggins, they probably believe the song is about love, however, once a person analyzes the lyrics the realize that the song is actually a story of a couple who are having a baby boy.
“Once you replace your negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results” - said Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson has achieved a lot in life. Willie had 15 Grammy Awards because of the way he sang, and secured a place in the Country Music Hall of Fame, making Willie one of the greatest country singers of the 20th century. Willie Nelson started learning music when he was just a kid. He wrote his first song when he was seven years old.
In 1964 world famous Motown singer Sam Cooke released a “A change is going to come.” This song included rhythmic melodies and soulful sounding lyrics, but this song contained and obviously deeper undertone of race relations in America. It sounds as a description of Cooke’s life up until this time and how he believes with the tide of civil rights activist a change was evidently going to eventually come. In this song Cooke chooses his lyrics in an ambiguous way to leave it to interpretation. These questions of the lyrical choice center on the American identity and who Cooke was referring to.
Over the course of human history, music has been an integral part of life. Music’s impact can be seen in every facet of the world today and it is a way to express feelings, tell a story, or prove a point. It can bring people together and can transcend communities, cultures, and ideologies. Although many do not realize it, music has had a profound impact on all human lives, and the lives of all others that have since died. Sam Cooke’s “A Change is Gonna Come’ is a song that defined a generation while bringing the oppression and injustice that African Americans experienced, on a daily basis, to the forefront of society.
Some have coined music as a universal language. Perhaps, the complexity of the notes, the consistency of the beat, the array of instruments, or the flow of lyricism offers this universal appeal. Nevertheless, the unique composition of each song enables it to sustain its own magnetic aura, much like the musical implication in Lewis Nordans Music of the Swamp. Though, many argue Nordans piece suggests merely a collection of short stories rather than a novel, Nordan uses his singsong methodology- a novel-in-stories- to incorporate an anthology of his transformative memory- an autobiography of the way it was.
“What’s Going On” I believe protest music is any song that is associated with change or the defiance of a prior principle. It does not matter if the song or genre was written for the purpose of revolution or if the song is a rally cry or only meant to spread awareness, but if the lyrics and the feeling of the song invoke those ideas, it may be considered protest music. Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” was written about the Vietnam War, but people choose to interpret the song as a cry for civil rights. A song does not need to begin as socially aware to be considered a protest song because it’s about how it’s interpreted by others and used.

Country lovers It might seem as yet another innocent love story, but do not let the title fool you. In this article I will discuss the comparison of the meanings of each verse in two different songs. The first title of the song is "child" performed by nidji band and the second title is "sleeping child" which is brought by MLTR band. The two songs have the same theme. If we look carefully many bands or singers carry the same theme as well as two songs to be discussed in this article. The two songs both tell the story of a child's figure or shown to children expressed in different languages and different meanings in each verse.
My song is different. It’s not famous and no one sings it. It has been cut and pasted, edited and put into rhythm. The chorus has been changed many times and the beat is sometimes a little off. My song goes on without any caesura.
