The act of banning books have been around since 1982 and more than 11,300 have been banned since that time for various reason such as profanity, politics, religion, and explicit writing. For example, the bible was banned from schools for religious viewpoints on Christianity. Many people have various opinions on banning and challenging books; some may even see this action as a violation of our constitution. Sometimes copies of books would be smuggled into different countries because the people of that country were unable to obtain the books they wanted to read. One title of a smuggled book is Lady Chatterley’s Lover. This book was banned because sex was a constant idea in the book.
