Last night, I read your article about Animal Farm and I just wanted to comment on some of your ideas about the novel. I found your claim very interesting, and I enjoyed it very well. Before reading your writing I had no opinion about the book, I just read it like an assignment. However, after reading your passage about “Animal Farm”, I went through it again just to make sure if my opinion was the same as yours or if I had a different thought about your claim. As a teenager, and a girl who hates reading, your article is very catchy, however I am going to start of by disagreeing to your first claim about the book. I disagree to that because, the Revolution started by the peasants getting mistreated that led them to rebelling in the end. In the book it shows the exact same situation but different characters, from humans to Animals. The best claim you gave in your article was that, the author had no right to criticize about Russian Revolution because he doesn't understand it himself, and he is not Russian. I strongly agree to this because, the author can explain the basic knowledge of the Revolution but, he doesn't get affected by it because he himself is not Russian, which is a fact. There cannot be any emotions to it because of his nationality and because he doesn't know what it’s like to be in the position of a Russian. Mr. Soule, your final claim which is basically the conclusion to all your claim is that ‘the author did a great job, and the book was a “success” as a story but, as a history book it was not because, Orwell was not Russian and he probably doesn’t understand everything’,made me confuse,but my final response is an agree.
