1. A trifle is an object, person, or place with little value. In this play specifically, the trifle of the play in the dead bird. I believe this because the women in the play convinced themselves that the bird had such “’little value” that they did not need to tell the sheriff or attorney. In reality this little bird was the solution to the crime discussed in the play. I believe this was a very accurate title chosen for this play. When choosing a good title, you should choose something clever and not straight forward. This title is very intriguing and makes you wonder what the play is going to be about. It draws people’s attention, so they will come and see the performance. At the same time, the title represents the play very well, because the trifle is the reason the crime cannot be solved. A domestic drama is a drama that focuses on the everyday domestic lives of people and their relationships in the community where they live. This domestic drama has a twist because as this crime is something that can happen in everyday life, it is very unlikely. The type of drama in this play pulls in a tragedy theme.
