In order to reverse or prevent some types of eye damage, variations of gene-replacement, or the identifying a mutation that cripples retinas and fixing the problem by slipping a good copy of genes into the eye, could find, or even fix similar genetic defects early on. In addition to gene-replacement, stem cells, or cells in early stage of development, replace or reduce the failing retinal cells that cause blindness. Dobbs also talks about bionic retinas, or microchips that replace failed retinal cells by collecting or amplifying light. Ichabod Crane and Brom Bones are two, extremely different characters. Both of the characters’ names represented them well; Ichabod Crane was tall and lanky, while Brom Bones was muscular and strong. Ichabod was an educated being and also apprehensive. Unlike Bones who was arrogant, upfront, and more street-smart than book-smart. A few things that contrasted between the actions of both of them is that Ichabod didn’t know how to ride a horse very well, he taught music, was a school teacher, he helped people all around the town with their farms, and had to work hard for his goals.

Leaves rustling in the wind on a brisk fall day, the sun’s rays glistening the dew drops of a flower, and the heavy weight of snow on one’s rooftop after a chilly December night; these are all detailed and sensational descriptions of nature's most extreme conditions. Typically these detailed descriptions evoke a strong sense of emotion within the reader's mind, and provide a feeling of connection with nature. In the short story The Fall of the House of Usher by: Edgar Allen Poe, and in the poem Thanatopsis by: William Cullen Bryant, Poe and Bryant set the mood using two romanticism characteristics; detailed descriptions of the surrounding landscape to connect to the senses of the reader, along with parallels of nature to human beings, these
Rosa Parks refused to give her seat up on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama; Malala Yousafzai defied threats from the Taliban to campaign for education; Mother Teresa dedicated her life to serving the poor. All of these people have something in common- they all have shown acts of heroism and courage. In Alvarez’s novel the Time of the Butterflies, the Mirabal sisters all demonstrate acts of courage equal to those stated above. Although all of the sisters show courage, it is Minerva, who demonstrates the greatest amount of courage. Minerva demonstrates exceptional courage throughout the story, including at the Discovery Day dance when she stood up to Trujillo, and while imprisoned and never gave up hope.
The dictionary definition of race is “each of the major divisions of humankind, having distinct physical characteristics.” However, the definition fails to explain that race is simply an idea. An idea that has driven America’s complex history. “It’s development over the past few hundred years has left a legacy of misconceptions and confusion about race among many Americans” (“The Story of Race”, RACE). It has successfully justified slavery, segregation, and the near-elimination of Native Americans, while still claiming a foundation of liberty and justice for all.

Racial distinctions between Africans Americans and Caucasians have been used to justify significant differences in jobs, policing and housing, leading to great injustices. If we want to address those injustices we need to change the way we think about what our society needs to do in order to strive. The racial influence on finding jobs for African Americans in modern society still worsens as discrimination still decides who gets the job or the promotion. For example, if two qualified males of both races applied for a job the one who would be called up for the job is most likely the Caucasian male.

Henceforth, as animal testing increased, so did the controversy surrounding it (“Animal testing,” n.d.). Moreover, with the help of animal testing, various treatments and medicines are developed for unconventional diseases. Although animal testing may seem ruthless, animals are used for experimental research that contributes to science if there are no other possible substitutes. Animal testing is a debatable topic that still continues to be one until this time. Animal experimentation should persist because it saves human’s life from diseases, ensures cosmetics’ safety, and improves medical
They are able to use gene editing technology on adult stem cells, which are able to transform into any cell that is needed. The transformed stem cells would be able to repair any damaged tissue of the eye, helping treat the eye conditions (Obesity, Fitness & Wellness Week). Although humans and monkeys are different, they are also very similar. They are probably more similar than they are different. Despite their differences, it is often said that humans were once apes, a type of monkey that within the years slowly evolved to adapt to their climate and environment.
