The Civilization of Ancient Egypt The Egyptian civilization starts 6,000 years ago to the beginning of settled life along the banks of the Nile River. The ancient Egyptians were one of the first people to believe in life after death. They were the first to fashion the arch in stone and brick. Even before the unification of the Two Lands, the Egyptians had developed a system of writing. Egyptians used pictures to represent words or sounds. Egyptians main source of success is through the great Nile River. Nile River being the longest river in the world, Nile plays a big rule on Egyptians economic growth.
