Twenty-two year old, Andre Robinson should be convicted of a felony, for the hostile actions he has taken. Not only because it is categorized as animal cruelty, but as it was first, and foremost, intentional. Second, the situation could and should have been handled in a more mature way. Lastly, Robinson saw no problem with potentially murdering an innocent creature. Without question, Robinson should be required jail time; moreover, a full seven-year sentence, for his intentional abuse on King, the cat. While viewing the outrageous video one can witness Robinson as he coaxes the cat to wander towards him. Rebecca Hartt describes the scene as a cat, "being lured by a young man’s outstretched hand" (Hartt). Immediately after welcoming the creature, Robinson launches the cat, sending him some ten feet upward and twenty feet outward. Simultaneously after sabotaging King, Robinson bursts out in laughter (Hartt). Furthermore, Robison found joy within harming innocent King, who only wished to gain affection from a human being. First, Robinson could have handled the situation in a more mature manner than was taken. Although one may claim that Robinson could have felt threatened by the animal; Robinson confirms a feeling like so was completely absent to him. Even if there was he simply could have fled the situation, avoiding his circumstance altogether. Newly elected, Mr. Thompson stated, “It’s part of the new administration; we’re going to take these cases seriously" (Hartt). Robinson knew of this statement beforehand but chose to ignore it.
