A lot of events went down in the period of 1829-1837. When Andrew Jackson came into office he changed a lot of things around and destroyed many old ideas of government. He pushed out the Indians and got rid of the second national bank. In terms of how successful Jackson was, he was very successful in carring out his plans but he did not leave a good mark on the United states of America when he finally left office. During his term as president Jackson stirred up a lot of trouble.

The Indian Removal Act proves that Jackson is an autocrat because he forces the Indians to move to new lands and will not let them stay in the land they have the right to live on. Indian Removal Document 1 is a map that shows Native Americans having to move west of the Mississippi River to new lands against their will so that the country can farm on the lands they were on. This proves that Jackson is an autocrat because he wants complete control of the Native Americans and where they live.

He created the spoil system, which was putting your friends into a government position. He was also known to challenge many people and to kill them in duels.
During the 1830’s, Andrew Jackson’s presidency became a time the United States encountered a historical change and was an era of the common man. While elected president, he created an era of American politics which created a growth of democracy. According to Give Me Liberty, “Unlike previous presidents, Jackson rose to prominence from a humble background, reflecting his era’s democratic opportunities” (p. 281). With that being said, Jackson generated political and economic changes during his presidency.

Andrew Jackson was an American President who served from 1829 until 1837. In America, the country was divided between the north and the south. The president had to keep them together. Jackson took this responsibility too far.
When Andrew Jackson ran for president in 1828 against John Quincy Adams, he proclaimed himself a Democrat and had the support of the Democratic Party. Being a Democrat running against a Republican, many people would think that Andrew Jackson would be highly anti-republican. Throughout Andrew Jackson’s term as president, he showed obvious signs of being a Democrat. Initially, according to Rimini, the Democrats throughout the nation celebrated Jackson and honored him by using hickory in almost everything they possibly could.
“But should you listen to the bad birds that are always flying about you and refuse to move, I have then directed the commanding officer to remove you by force (Source 5). Even though he knew that his people deserved the land he still wanted them to move so that other people can take their land. Andrew Jackson the first President from the western state, he came from a poor family, he was a war hero and a representative of a common man “only white man”. He thought himself after the revolutionary war and he became a frontier attorney in backwoods Tennessee. Andrew Jackson was known as, “a man of the people”, but he promoted slavery and he took lands from Native Americans. Jackson viewed the Native Americans as non-human, barbarians and he decided they needed to be removed from their land for the benefits of settlers. Jackson's Democracy was always cast for the benefit of white men, it didn't even include white women or non-whites.
Andrew Jackson was born to modest parents in a small village in the Carolinas after moving from Ireland. At thirteen years old, the British captured Andrew during the American Revolution. While under the control of a British officer, Andrew refused to perform a task directed toward him and he was cut with a sword leaving him with scars and an everlasting hate for the British. As he grew older, Andrew received little education while working on farms and in factories. In 1796, he was elected as a delegate for the Tennessee Constitutional Convention and that same year he became a congressman.
Andrew Jackson was the seventh president of the United States, young at the time. Some believe that Andrew Jackson was a good president, but doesn’t stand out too much. Others, including me, believe that Jackson was not a pleasant person, nor president.
