President Jackson was born on March 15, 1767 and died on June 8, 1845. He served as the seventh president of the United States and served two terms (March 4, 1829 - March 4, 1837). He was the first man elected from the state of Tennessee to the House of Representatives. His first message to Congress was about wanting to eliminate the electoral college. Jackson believed that that government duties are simple and should be given to applicants that deserve it.
Jackson became a war hero in the War of 1812. The War of 1812 was to stop British impressment and stop Indian attacks along the frontier. Jackson supported policies that forced migration on Native Americans. Jackson was founder of the Democratic Party on January 8, 1828. The Democratic party was formed to oppose federalist who supported the ratification of the US Constitution. Usually, this time refers to the Southeast and Cherokee indians specifically. They were pushed to walk thousands of miles over almost ten present day states on their journey.
Jackson issued the Specie Circular in 1836 that required either gold or silver for land payments. The reason for this Executive Order was because of the uncontrolled land speculations and the growth of paper money. Thomas Benton was the author of the Executive Order and Jackson legalized it. Jackson stipulated that land was not to be bought unless it was gold and silver presented for payment. This order also dried up farmers credit and disregard land speculation.
He did not have any children of his own but he did adopt three children and two of them were Native Americans. His first wife died due to a heart attack and was buried on Christmas Eve. Andrew Jackson died at age seventy-eight due to poisoning from bullets that have been left in for several years from the battles he was in. He was buried next to his wife
