Ronda Reynolds from childhood was determined to become the first Washingtonian state trooper. Although she had high dreams she barely had a chance to explore them. Ronda did not have good taste in men and for that reason she was divorced once and almost completed a second one. On the last night of her second marriage, she was found with gun shot in the head. The county police department declared it a suicide; however, her mother, Barb Thompson, never truly accepted that her daughter committed suicide.
“The virus starts and stops with you”(Taylor 89). Suicide is a virus. it's a virus that continues spreading and it affects everyone, not just the person who got sick. it affects the family and affects the community it affects everyone personally involved with the person who killed themselves. For example, if there was a group of friends and one of the said friends killed themselves the whole group would feel the lasting impact of their death whether it be emotional physical, or mental to the point where maybe that was the last straw for one of the other friends and it leads them to kill themselves, therefore, affecting the whole group once again.
For as long as we know people have used suicide as an unhealthy coping mechanism. This was very apparent in Romeo and Juliet. In Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet two young teenagers meet at a party and think they are “in love”. As the play proceeds the love between the two grows stronger and they get married and want to spend the rest of their lives together. When a conflict causes
Growing up requires a high demand of endurance as life is filled with hardships and challenges. Thus in order to live through them, people must be as strong as the stress and anxiety which builds upon them. Both Donald M. Murray’s “What Football Taught Me” and Lisa Keiski’s “Suicide’s Forgotten Victims” demonstrate how to persist life challenges. Despite experiencing different forms of hardships that enable them to survive through their pain, Murray and Keiski transmit life lessons about individual growth. They emphasize survival through society, authority figures, and themselves.
One historical figure that influences me is Martin Luther King Jr. He was an African-American activist and a political leader. During the Segregation in 50’s and 60’s in USA, he stood up for black people’s rights. However, he did not defend their rights by violence, he did it by peace.
Many suicides could be linked with teen stress and responsibility. Teen responsibility can mean a lot of different things whether it is from getting/keeping a part-time job, being the “popular kid”, or just trying to keep grades up. All of these tasks are a lot easier said than done. It can get so stressful that someone doesn’t think it can be done and just gives up on life, and those around them. Sometimes having all that responsibility on top of normal chores and hormones can feel like WAY too much for one person to take and it might honestly feel like suicide is the only way
Over time, they start to lose the ability to cope and this is when they start thinking, and attempting, suicide. For example, in the story Romeo and Juliet, both characters experience or are in a emotional distress or stated of mind. They both can't stand not being with each other which starts off as a “slight irritation” but over time it gets worse and they can't deal which makes them turn to the ideal of suicide if they can't be with one another.
People who committed suicide were in a state of immense despair; they could not see hope and find the courage to go on. They wanted to end their pain. At the same time, they might not realize that they were also being selfish.
There is a social hierarchy in a place where women are inferior to men. Being born a woman lead to a life of order and minimal room for error. Ironically, the women are at fault because they are women, and they pay the price for it. Knowing that she lives in a patriarchal society, it is possible that she chose to commit suicide because she didn’t want to live such a miserable life any longer. Neither did she want that life for her child, especially if that child had been a girl.
Anomic suicide occurs when there is lack of regulation in the society. This type of suicide is dell to a sudden breakdown of the social equilibrium such as sudden business depression. Therefore we can say that this type of suicide is triggered by disastrous change in the life of an individual. Egoistic suicide occurs when an individual feels very isolated from the social group. It results from the lack of integration of the individual into his or her social group.
Losing a loved one is very difficult to handle throughout your life. Have you ever felt like giving up on life as well because your other behalf or your loved one passed away due to suicide and not being able to see them again until the afterlife? Suicide is the act of ending your own death at your own hand to escape the pain or suffering from the world. It should be meant to enjoy life like everyone else and not taking your own life just by the opinion of others or by the disaster of the world or by any body failure you might be experiencing. Accordingly, to the organization of the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, suicide becomes the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.
What is suicide? It’s an act to end your own life. According to the American foundation for suicide, over 44,000 people try to commit suicide each year in the United states. Did you know that in 2015, suicide was the second leading causes of death in people 15 to 34 years of age. People can commit suicide by cutting their wrists, gun shot, jumping from heights or hang themselves.
Over the years the issue of suicide has been slowly increasing. It is now the third leading cause of death among young people. The effects of suicide are tragic and felt long after the individual has taken their own life. Some people who consider suicide, however, never make a “serious” attempt at it. For every attempted suicide, there is said to be more than one person whose thought of suicide has never translated into an actual attempt.
Teenagers sometimes had a period of depressing. They are usually stressed over something, such as some of them witnessing the pressure that was coming from all around their surroundings. The hardship of suicidal people have imagining a resolution to their sorrow is due in part to the misrepresented thinking caused by depression. The unimaginable pain the person is going to lead them to take their own life with frustration. A person with depression usually does not has the similar thinking with a healthy person.
