During World War II, the German Reich marched across the entire continent of Europe. During the Holocaust, many people became discouraged and lost hope in the future of society. However, the excerpts from “Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl,” written by herself, and “Hitler Youth: Growing up in Hitler’s Shadow” by Susan Campbell Bartoletti, prove that being positive and persevering is the best thing that someone can do. Whether hiding from the Nazis or already taken by them, the best response to have during conflict and chaos is maintaining a positive outlook on life and to persist through difficult times.
Prior to World War 2 Jewish people were the main family or culture that the Nazi’s been feeding off of and killing approximately 6,000 each day. Which led to 6.5 million Jews dead at the end of the war and a few survivors. Although one of these few survivors was Otto Frank, father of Anne Frank, Diarist of one of the most famous diaries, “The Diary of Anne Frank.” World War 2 was a devastating event that changed how Jews lived because because they were said to be “Divergent.” How I felt about the events covered in the Diary of Anne Frank was dramatically depressing.
Anne Frank Compare and Contrast The Diary of Anne Frank takes place Amsterdam, Netherlands. In the book Anne and her family are Jews in World War II. Because of the oppression of the Jews, Anne and her family are forced to go into hiding. Anne, her mom Edith, her dad Otto, her sister Margot, Mr. and Mrs. Van Daan, Peter Van Daan, and Mr. Dussel.
Dealing With Conflict and Hard Times When it comes to dealing with tough times such as going to internment camps or hiding from Nazi soldiers so that they aren’t taken to centration camps, there are three important questions that come into play; What motivates people to move through hard times and moments? , What can people do to help others going through tough problems?, and Who can people go to to help them through tough times or conflict? I think that people can best respond to conflict by staying strong through courageousness and always having people in their life to talk to.
Anne Frank was just a young average girl when the Holocaust began. The Franks were forced into hiding when the Nazi leader, Adolf Hitler, demanded all Jews to be eliminated. In fact, many of them were sent to concentration camps to work, or to be gassed to death. The Frank family went into hiding with the Van Daans in a secret Annex in Otto Frank’s workplace. There
The war has a huge impact on Amsterdam and food becomes deficient and crime increases. Anne Frank writes about her personal feelings as well as the up and down relationship she has with the adults in the secret annex. She often writes about her mother who Anne feels lacks in her affection towards her. Anne is not very fond of the van Daan’s as well. Anne does not mention her sister much in the diary entries but when she does she describes her with words like pretty,smart, and acceptable.
During her confinement in the annex Anne often turns to the privacy of her diary to confide in. The diary is a place where“[Anne] can put all of her thoughts, all [her] feelings” (33), which is a luxury many of the other residents in the annex desire. During the play, we witness some of the direct quotes from Anne 's diary. Along with the humour and trivial problems that a teenager would write about, there are poetic and morose segments about her feelings about the holocaust and being trapped in the annex. She writes about being "surrounded by darkness and danger" (40); these sentiments from a 14-year-old girl gives insight to the forcibly accelerated way she grows up under such circumstances.
This story is abut a girl that was writing her daily days while she was in the holocaust She was venting her fears and frustrations, and contemplating her everyday life. She was given the diary as a present from her parents in 1942, and named it Kitty. Through her diary writing, Anne Frank was in many ways her own counsellor in a time of great suffering and tribulation. She realized that writing down her thoughts and feelings could help her cope with the anxiety of the war and Nazi persecution.

The Diary of Anne Frank is about a young jewish girl named Anne Frank, who has to go into hiding with her family in order to not get caught and taken away by the Nazis in Amsterdam, and while in hiding, records her experiences and thoughts into her diary. Farewell to Manzanar is a book based on a girl named Jeanne Wakatsuki who is seven years old at the time, and gets taken away with her family to Manzanar encampments, as the U.S. government doesn’t want to risk any Japanese Americans possibly giving up information to the Japanese as they are at war with them. Anne Frank and Jeanne Wakatsuki have many similarities and differences throughout their lifetimes on the run from the war.
Anne Frank had many complicated relationships, the latter being in the Secret Annexe. She had both good and bad relations with her family, the Van Daans, and Mr. Dussel. With Mrs. Frank, Anne had a somewhat rocky relationship. They often fought and found one another ignorant. Anne thought she was a bad parent, and often hurt her mother’s feelings.
How does conflict affect people? When conflict presents itself it shows the real person. Conflict can fracture relationships majorly in time of panic and worry. An example, would be Mrs.Frank and Anne from “The Diary of Anne Frank”. Anne feels that her mother doesn’t love her.
The effects of war are devastating not only to people but also to the environment. For example, in the story I am Malala, during the take over by the Taliban, many schools were being destroyed. There was also destruction from the battles being fought between the Pakistan army and the Taliban throughout Swat. Finally, Malala and her family were forced to relocate, throwing them into a different environment. Also, in the story of Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl, Anne and her family had to leave their comfortable home to go into hiding.
It was on her 13th birthday that she got a diary. In her diary, she wrote about her friendships, crushes and her academic performance at school. Anne had an older sister named Margot, and they attended a Jewish school in Amsterdam. In this diary, the Franks moved to Netherlands from Germany because they feared prosecution. After the Germans invaded the Netherlands in 1940, the Franks, another family called the van Daans and Mr Russell hid in a small secret annex above Otto Frank’s, Anne’s father’s office.
When the Nazis invaded Amsterdam, Anne’s father took help from some local friends to hide in a complex of his office. The office is known commonly as the “Secret Annex.” Days were spent here in worry, but everyone kept each other alive with love and support. Anne wrote in her diary, which kept her motivated to live. For two years, her and 7 others hid in solitary.
