Anne has shown many signs of maturity in her relationship with her mother. There are many examples in regards to this topic but there are three examples that stand out. From usually talking bad about her mother a year ago Anne is now ashamed of the “past” Anne. Anne has shown signs of maturity or growth with her and her relationship with her mother and their are many examples to prove it. First of all the examples, Anne clearly shows that she is ashamed of her “past self” by writing this, “Anne, is it really you who mentioned hate? Oh, Anne, how could you!”. If you think about this quote a little bit more you can definitely see that Anne has matured. You can tell by the part, “how could you!” and that is, thus, showing regret and disgust. You can tell because she is “talking” to her past self in disbelief. She can’t believe that her “past self” thought of her mom in a negative way which means that Anne has become closer to her mom and she has thought better of her mom now than in the past. I have grown wiser.”. In the quote she writes “I have grown wiser”. This is a huge improvement between her and her mother. Anne has become “wiser” and that means that she has learned not to have attitude and to not let her mouth say whatever it wants. She has learned to become wiser and wise is one of the many ways to a good relationship. And if that is not enough proof she even states in the entry that “The period is over” which means that there has been less fighting and less negativity in her relationship with her mom. If you want to rekindle a relationship, you have to improve in something and Anne improved by learning what breaks her mom and learning not to do those things.
