The Jungle written by Upton Sinclair is a book about the family of Jurgis Rudkus, an immigrant family, moving to America and having to work in meat packing plants in Chicago in the early 1900’s. Cinderella Man directed by Ron Howard is a movie that takes place during the Great Depression in the 1930’s is about a American boxer, James Braddock, that has to survive with little money after getting hurt and not being able to box. Jurgis Rudkus and James Braddock are very similar throughout this book and movie. They go through hard times, but in the end they get what they want and have a much better life.

Masks have an important cultural context in history, and as the use of masks has progressed, humans have adopted masks into other forms of entertainment and festivities. In present times, with better understanding of human psychology, society has come to understand that people wear emotional “masks” as well. Masks have a somewhat important context in both Golding’s Lord of the Flies and Dunbar’s “We Wear the Mask”. Both works describe masks as a way to hide one’s true self from everyone; Dunbar, however, depicts masks as an emotional barrier to cover up one’s true emotions or feelings, while Golding uses masks as a physical object to hide behind.

Grimm’s Cinderella is similar and different from Perrault’s Cinderella or (The Little Glass Slipper) because of the moral of kindness, themes, endings. The Grimm version of Cinderella can be compared to the Perrault version because the Grimm’s Cinderella has a darker theme than the Perrault’s version because it has gruesome details. Some gruesome parts in Grimm’s Cinderella is more towards the end of the Grimm fairy tale when the sisters cut off part of their feet. In Grimm’s version the shoe was too small for one the daughters so, “ the mother gave her a knife and said, "Cut the toe off; when thou art Queen thou wilt have no more need to go on foot. " When that did not work the other daughter tried on the shoe and her heel was too large.
A Comparison between Traditional and Modern Day Versions of Cinderella Cinderella is perhaps one of the most famous childhood fairy tale stories of all time. Over the years, numerous versions of the story have been recreated and have been told to children all over the world. The original story of Cinderella follows the life of a young girl who is mistreated by her step mother and stepsisters. Cinderella is magically converted into a gorgeous princess with the assistance of her fairy godmother. She then goes to the ball to meet the prince.
