In 1935, after the Saarland plebiscite and 90% in favour of being under German control, Germany gained more territories. This was good for Germany as Hitler wanted Lebensraum and uniting German speakers, the victory of the plebiscite meant that Nazi Germany was expanding. The vote resulted in another way for Hitler to get what he wanted, which was through fair voting. The 90% of voters were using their right of freedom by voting and were not forced. The plebiscite proved that people could support Hitler without using violence. Therefore, it made it easier for Hitler to justify his actions when claiming Austria and the Sudetenland.

For example, when Hitler proposed the Ten Year Non-Aggression Pact between Nazi Germany and the Second Polish Republic on January 1934, this was beneficial for Poland and Germany. It was a positive outcome for Poland as they thought they could be guaranteed safety and escape conflict from Germany. Whilst Hitler was not going to keep the promise, it was beneficial for Germany as it guaranteed safekeeping of Germany’s border. Another example was the Anti-Communism Pact 1936-1937, when Hitler signed it with Japan to agree not to have any contacts or relationship with any communist states. After Germany and Japan signed, more countries like Spain and Italy also joined the pact, hence founding a group of global superpowers called “The Axis”. This was a good outcome as this alliance meant that those countries will fight together during war as well fulfilling one of Hitler’s minor aims to destroy communism. It was a positive outcome for Japan, Italy, Spain, and other countries as they were part of a global superpower and could fight war together.
