Antigone Character Analysis

167 Words1 Pages
The most important thing to Antigone was to bury her brother Polyneices. "The rules the world below makes no such law" (Sophocles, 783). After Antigone was caught hurting Polyneices she argues "that final Justice that rules the world below makes no such law" (Sophocles, 783). I felt that she did make the right decision in burrying her brother instead of leaving him there in the streets letting him rot. Antigone was honestly brave in knowing that Creon could have killed her. She broke creons law so her brother Polyneices could enter the underworld because any who is not buried must forever Wonder outside the gates of the underworld and it's not allowed inside. Antigones motives in burying her brother were glory and hubris.
