Antigone was the daughter of King Oedipus of Thebes and Jocasta. Oedipus, the son of Laius and Jocasta killed his father Laius and became the king of Thebes. Oedipus not knowing what he was doing married his own mother Jocasta and had children by her. Which mean tthat, Antigone was the daughter and the sister of Oedipus. Soon, Oedipus discovered that Laius and Jocasta were his true parents so from saddness Jocasta hanged herself and Oedipus blinded himself with her broaches and left the city. Later on, Antigone leaves Thebes, she leaves Thebes in her brothers hand because her children are too young to rule but sooner or later the brother started fighting over who will rule Thebes.
