Child soldiers should be granted amnesty if they are proven to have remorse for their actions. The child soldiers are not always asked to be soldiers. Most of the time they are forced to be soldiers. There are those who willingly join but there are some who make the choice because they have to. Not many of them know they are doing something bad. While these children are in these militias they are given drugs. These kids get hooked on them and form addictions. These adolescents should be given amnesty because they are put through some tough stuff.

These children don’t just stand up and join these militias. These children are bought, kidnapped, and or terrorized. Some militias don’t even care about these kids they just use them. They use girls as cooks and messengers and those girls often get raped by the older people. They force kids …show more content…

If the United Nations gives child soldiers tests they can fake their remorse. Kids can be very manipulative and fake cry. Although these are possibilities they were threatened, kidnapped, and possibly terrorized and even raped. These kids were forced to do things they usually wouldn’t do because their horrible parents sold them like slaves to random militia commanders. Most likely these kids didn’t join by choice or if they did they were forced.

These kids were drugged with who knows what. Ishmael Beah a child soldier stated “they gave us a rifle and a bag of drugs some were weed mixed with cocaine others were gunpowder and cocaine”.(TheHour) The militia soldiers hook these juveniles on drugs to mess with their mind so they can’t make their own decisions. These kids were also brainwashed into thinking they were killing the bad guys. When in reality passed the drugs and the trauma they were killing innocent people.
