Antigone Weaknesses

Greek mythology is essential to the average world of mankind. Along with many other greek gods and goddesses, Antigone is a famous one. Antigone was both the sister and daughter to King Oedipus of Thebes. She was an extraordinary goddess for the greek population and a well known for her royal family.

Physically, Antigone had fair complected skin and red curly, thick hair. She had a distinct look about her, one that one would remember. Many believe she was given this hair by her mother while others believe it came from further down the line. Antigone had green eyes which symbolizes growth. harmony, and strength which would imply for the the character of the great, Antigone.

Antigone decides she must disobey the law, arguing that “a law of man which violates religious law is no law at all.” She then plans a ceremonial burial and is taken before Creon, who tell her that she will herself be buried by being sealed in a cave. Creon's son, Haemon, is fond to Antigone, and tries to protest her sentence and lectures his father. Creon refuses to change his mind. Then the writer, Tiresias tells Creon that the gods are angry with his decision to kill Antigone, so he finally changes his mind but it was too late. When the cave is opened to get Antigone out, she has already hung herself. In his grief and anger, Haemon tries to kill Creon. He fails, and then kills himself instead. Before his return to the palace, Creon also learns that his wife, Eurydice, killed herself too when she heard what had happened.
