Anxiety is a big problem
Over 40 million adults in the United States of America suffer from anxiety disorder, claims a study by researchers. In the last 20 years, anxiety disorders have increased by 67 percent, and today that number represents 18 out of every 100 Americans.
Only 37 percent of those diagnosed with anxiety disorder receive proper treatment. “Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illness in the United States”, says the Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA).

The costs on the U.S. Economy annually are over $40 billion dollars. That accounts for health care costs, insurance hikes, along with the harm a person can inflict on their life and those around him.

ANXIETY AND YOUR GUT, WHATS THE RELATION?
People usually correlate that many if not all mental health disorders come from chemical imbalances in the brain. However, this is not the case, as the neurochemical activity in the brain does have a significant part in our mental health and many of the disorders, but not all of them.

An article, titled “The gut-brain connection”, published by Harvard Medical School (HMS) explains the relationship.

The article explains as followed:
-The brain is sending signals to the gut, but the gut can also send signals back to the brain
-Intestinal or stomach distress can interfere with brain-gut and/or gut-brain neuronal transmission (“signaling”)
-Stomach or intestinal stress can be “the cause or product” of anxiety, stress and depression if the signal interference is severe.
