2. “If I have seen farther than others, it is because I have stood on the shoulders of giants.” by Isaac Newton. The four giants that served to provide Isaac Newton with a greater sight were Nicolaus Copernicus, Tycho Brahe of Denmark, Johannes Kepler of Germany, and Galileo Galilei of Italy. Nicolaus Copernicus was a proponent of the theory that the sun is in the center of the universe, not the Earth. Copernicus’s heliocentric system stated that the sun is at rest in the center of the universe while the other heavenly bodies, planets and stars, are revolving around the sun in its circular orbits. His heliocentric system was considered to be implausible by his contemporizes, except Isaac Newton. Newton, on the other hand, presented an explanation for what held the plants in their orbits such as the force of gravity which forms the …show more content…
Tycho Brahe of Denmark was a Danish astronomer who adopted a modified Copernicanism and he believed that the other plants moved around the sun except the Earth. Not only that but Brahe also worked in developing astronomical instruments such as the telescope and measuring and fixing the position of stars that paved the way for future discoveries. Brahe contributed to the heliocentrim throughout his observations of planetary movements; he set new standards for astronomical data. Among his assistances was Johannes Kepler of Germany, who dedicated his life to clarifying the theory of heliocentrism. After Brache’s death, Kepler inherited his astronomical data. Johannes Kepler of Germany was inspired by the Neoplatonism and his continues sighting of Brahe, he set forth his solution for what is keeping the planets in their orbits. Kepler was able to affirm that the solar system itself is regular and it is organized by mathematically determined relationships. Both Tycho Brahe of Denmark and Johannes Kepler of Germany laid groundwork for Isaac Newton and his
