Dear Ap hugger, Welcome to AP Human Geography (AP HUG)! AP Hug is the study of interactions between people and places. This course will help you learn more about other countries and what is going on around the world. AP Hug helped me learn more about other countries and why they are important to the world. AP Hug also helped me learn how to take better notes and write essays faster (FRQs). My view of the world changed a ton after taking this class. Before taking this class, I didn't know much about other countries, and what was happening around the world, but now I know what is happening worldwide. At the beginning of the school year, all of my friends were talking about how hard this class was supposed to be, and telling me I might should …show more content…

It may sound like a lot, but Mrs. Rose will teach you everything you need to know! Unit 1 - This unit (Thinking geographically) is about looking at how objects, processes, and patterns change over the earth. Unit 2 - This unit (Population and Migration) is all about the distribution of people on earth, why people decide to live where they do, why people migrate where they do, and the effects of migration. Unit 3 - This unit (Culture) covers the different religions, diffusions, language, race, and ethnicities of the world. Unit 4 - This unit (Political) was, in my opinion, the hardest unit. Unit 7 - This unit (Cities and Urban Land use) is all about the flow of goods and services across the …show more content…

Some of the units are hard to understand, but if you put yourself down over one bad test grade, then the next unit you will be so focused on the bad grade you may do bad again. My best piece of advice and what I did was pay attention to the lectures, take notes on stuff you don't know (especially vocab) and study before test. If you are an overachiever wand want to have an A+ all year, watch reviews on youtube or study. For reading quizzes, just make sure you read. Mrs. Rose will tell you to annotate the book, but it didn't really help me much. The most important thing for reading quizzes is at the back of the AMSCO book (the Index). On test, don't spend too long on one question, and make sure you study before! For FRQ's (Free Response Questions) just make sure you don't spend all of your time on one part. Also make sure you know some of the basic RLE's. The final tip I want to give you is to not give up. Everyone may be talking about how hard the AP exam is, and how much you have to prepare for it, but it wasn't that difficult. As long as you don't stress out about the little things, you will do fine in AP
