I found this video extremely entertaining because this film showed how man transformed based on the new knowledge that we had acquired. At the start of the video, we see a man first discovering the skull and soon developing a sketch of what he thinks man looked like based on this finding. Eventually, he finds a leg bone and with this, determine that the shape of this bone meant that man walked upright. This was surprising to me because based on the time frame of these findings, evolution had taken place much earlier than I had thought. As the video progresses, we learned that Homo erectus had developed tools that they could use for hunting, and then discovered fire. Raymond matched the brain to the rock, he realized he had both the brain and the skull of an unknown ape-man, but the face was buried in solid rock that would take him 7 weeks to reveal. The two-million-year-old fossil, Taung, was a combination of an ape and a child. It was sad to hear that Taung had wandered and was eaten by an eagle from above, however, Taung was the missing link to Raymond’s discoveries. After further discovering a jawbone, they discovered the distinct smell of burning flesh which suggested that this came from a modern ape that was disguised to look ancient. This finding was surprising to me because I did not think that it was a known thing to fake evidence in the anthropology world. As the film progresses, we see a man by the name of Leeky who discovers a skull in an area where the previous tools had been discovered, suggesting that this skull was the start of mankind. The skull, Zinge, had such powerful jaws and unique facial features. Shortly after they discovered another skull, named Homo-habilis, that looked even more human-like. Homo-habilis had a larger brain and more human teeth. This meant that the species was using stones to capture food, marking the start for
