Bloody, gruesome, action packed, and romantic are all acceptable terms to describe “Apocalypto.” This film took place in a Mesoamerican tribe right before Christopher Columbus landed in the Americas. At the beginning, the film depicts the average everyday struggles of a Native American tribe which included hunting for food, trading, rituals, and taking care of their loved ones this allowed the viewer to perceive this indigenous tribe to being an “ecological indian” tribe. I liked how Mel Gibson made jaguar paw (the main character) seem like he knew every single part of his village in order to use his environment to his advantage against Zero Wolf’s (antagonist) group.
