The Acoma Pueblo was built on top of a 367-foot sandstone bluff valley. Long ago, the Acoma Pueblo earned the reputation as the oldest inhabited community in North America. It is known for its unique art and rich culture worldwide. The Acoma Pueblo is a recognized Indian Tribe, and has a land base covering 431,664 acres of land. And is home to 4,800 plus tribal members with more than 250 dwellings. None of the dwelling have electricity, sewer, or water. The Acoma Pueblo is the 28th Historical Site by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, in 2007.
