Zee The Native American culture- centered area- now known as the present-day Four Corners- The Ancestral Puebloans were home to the Navajo tribe Anasazi. The tribe was lead by a young woman named Eliza. Her father, Dimi, had passed only weeks before and she was left with the responsibility of leading her tribe into the uncharted land they called Zonart. The only thing she knew about the land was the story her father had told her. The night before he died Dimi had told her about the spirit named Zee. He told her that she had the strength of a herd of oxen and the wisdom of the great owl. He also informed he that the land they prepared to enter was completely deserted. Eliza had no idea where the temple was nor who this mysterious spirit was, but she had a feeling that if she didn’t follow her father’s directions that bad luck would be brought upon her tribe. Eliza lead the Anasazi as far as she could to safety. She left her closest friend, Lilac, in charge while she searched for Zee’s temple. During her search Eliza encountered many small creatures with an unusual glimmer surrounding them. They seemed to lead her towards a dark cave. She entered the cave with no hesitation as if it was pulling her towards it. A faint glow could be seen at the far end of the cave. She slowly walked towards the glow as she heard a whisper fill the room. “Climb to the top of the mountain and water the cactus.” Of course this made absolutely no sense because water was nowhere to be found. But she climbed the mountain anyways. On her way up she thought about her father, how much of a wise and brave leader he was. She was afraid she couldn’t reach his expectations. What if she couldn’t honor his memory? Eliza began to cry as she reached the top of the ciff. She spotted a baby cactus centered at the very peak. She now knew what had to be done. Eliza used her tears to water the cactus and as this happened, it began to
