Social Darwinism is a concept applying Darwin's natural selection and evolution theory to a human society. It is used to justify the injustices and inequalities among races and culture. Social Darwinism was popular in the late 19th century because of a philosopher named Herbert Spencer who came up with the phrase, “survival of the fittest”.
