The story works in flashbacks. The flashbacks are a crucial part to the story. They slowly build up to where she is nine months later, providing hints, clues for the viewer to piece together the story. She becomes an accused terrorist after a convention centre in New York City she is doing security detail for is blown up. All evidence is leading to her. After the explosion in New York City set off by the bomb, Parrish is blamed for everything. There had been a tip to the hotline claiming it was her. Evidence was planted in her house. Without doubt her professor from Quantico, Liam O’Connor is quick to accuse her. This is seen as betrayal from her closest ally. Though he has always been secretly investigating her since the start. I do recommend this show. Out of the several new shows I am watching this fall, it has far more representation and complex characters. Blood & Oil a show that premiered on the same night and network features and all white cast with a protagonist only focused on money. While Quantico has complex characters that are slowly building throughout the season, and features and Indian women as the lead.
