Are Athletes Paid Too Much Money

Most athletes on end each year make around one million to an astounding three hundred million dollars. Athletes use their amazing athletic abilities in order to entertain millions and even billions of people. The big controversial question is: do they deserve every penny they make? These athletes get their money from entertaining and from possible merchandise or even advertising. On the other hand, if an athlete were to accept a job from a certain team they would already be getting millions of dollars for joining and playing for the team for the season. If someone were to look up athletes homes he or she would see mansions, and for what, playing a measly game? Admittedly, there are other factors such as the possibility of the player or athlete to get hurt in the process of the game, but this is not an excuse being many other low paying jobs can easily cause injury to the worker. Athletes should not be being paid these insane amounts of money because this money could go to cancer research or charities and it could even go to the government for tops.
Charities are a good way to give money to your community to help the less fortunate. Some good charities to give back to would be help for cancer research. Granted, …show more content…

Most believe that the millions they get are earned and well deserved, but not everyone agrees with that also. Some say that it is rare for people to be professional athletes, but honestly we could say that about fireman or policeman to. Athletes also get money from merchandise and commercials they do. Athletes should not be paid so much, because they are not doing an actual job that will better our community. They are being paid this amount of money as if their is nothing else the money can go to.
