Were we all innocent little creatures from birth or were we conceived in sin? For the past few years this interesting question has sparked numerous debates around the world. In fact, this question has been around for centuries. There are many accounts of famous philosophers who gave their opinion on this topic, and of course their reason and evidence to back their answer. Some of these famous men were Aristotle, Plato and T. Hobbes. Apart from just opinions, much research and several experiments were conducted to gain more knowledge on the topic and maybe even a definite answer. Since an uncivilized person is not groomed to know what is immoral, he naturally commits evil without any second thoughts. This supports the claim that humans are inherently evil.
People are generally evil due to the desire to benefit themselves. We often enjoy receiving gifts of all sorts, expensive or cheap, but do you ever pay attention to how you feel about giving them? From a Christians point of view, we were all born into sin. The Bible says “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me”. (The Holy Bible, Psalm 51:5) The author of Psalm is that we are all by nature children of wrath only because we are all born sinners. The Bible explains that “God did not create the human race sinful, but upright.” (DesiringGod) But we all automatically became sinful because of Adam’s sin.
