In Robert Kurson’s book, “Shadow Divers,” he reveals how a group of divers solve one of the last mysteries of World War II. Captain Bill Nagle owns the Seeker which is a charter boat that people can rent to take them to shipwrecks. Nagle is a world renowned deep sea shipwreck diver, because he pushes the limits on how far and where divers can go. Nagle has explored some of the most dangerous shipwrecks such as the Andrea Doria and Texas Tower. He has also retrieved various souvenirs from wrecks such as china dishes and the boat’s bell, but Nagle has massive respect for the history of sunken watercraft.
A planned multi-million-dollar offshore aquarium off of Granite Island is being fast tracked with hopes of reviving the tourism region at Victor Harbor (ABC, 2015). While it is early days in the proposal, there is an air of confidence that the plan will precede if the community accepts the idea (Simmons, 2015). What impact will the proposed underwater observatory have on Victor Harbor? To assist with the research Simone from the Port Lincoln Swim with the Tuna observatory was contacted as well as Oceanic Victor and an interview was held with Ian Milne, the marine biology teacher at Victor Harbor High School. Research was also conducted at Granite Island.
Ric O'Barry had never planned to create an organization devoted to saving dolphins’ lives and well being. He had worked alongside one a dolphin for a very long time named Kathy on the hit show flipper. He had not realized how depressed the dolphins’ become while trainers and dolphins’ enthusiast keep the sea creatures in captivity. He explains how when he and his family were visiting a beach and he watched a fisherman reel up a shark and was planning to eat it. He wanted the fisherman to set it free, so he took a risk and confronted the fisherman. He explained to the fisherman how sharks were important to the ecosystem and other reasons why he should set it free. After the fisherman conceded and let the shark free, Ponce says, “I swear the shark looked at me with gratitude.

The reality is that sharks are very complex creatures, and should be treated as such. They are an intricate part of the ocean’s ecosystem and the ecosystem would be completely thrown off without them. We need to realize that these creatures are invaluable, and that we must conserve these animals. If we do not realize this reality, we could lose sharks forever.
