I chose these two particular essays because they are my best work of the semester and I enjoyed the prompts that came along with the essays. My Argument Analysis Essay was the less favored of the two because finding viable and honest research on biosurveillance was anger-inducing and gave me a migraine when I discovered just how intrusive this technology is. This particular essay makes me proud because I was able to control my own bias towards the particular topic and focus completely on the argument that was presented. Writing in this model was slightly challenging but rewarding because I felt accomplished after completing the assignment. Granted, there are grammar mistakes that I should have noticed and corrected, I still felt proud to absorb a new writing model and fully change my mindset to not only write and think around this particular model but I also pushed myself to find articles that also used the Rogerian Model and compare my work to other writers. This exercise stretched my mental capacity to accept others views and see where I could grow as a writer and reader which is one of the most important skills to develop in school. While writing this essay I learned many supported facts about GMO’s and organic food that I did not know but helped me in school and at home. I learned what it meant to adopt a carbon footprint from the food I eat that had to be shipped from the other side of the country and I learned why it’s important to have some food genetically altered because of hereditary diseases within the food that could harm me if the chosen meal was
