Men Can Be Feminists Too I believe that men can be feminists. Before I ever began to study gender or feminist theory about three years ago, I was a feminist. Although I hadn’t yet developed a construct of how feminist theory would forever saturate my perspectives and worldviews, I had a general idea about feminism and I knew it was for me. Much like Cara Thoreson in Developing a Feminism Identity: A Father’s Role (2004), men played an integral part in my resonance with feminism. However, in contrast with Thoreson (2004), I had a rage and adversity toward men based on experiences with the men closest to me, which is what propelled my running toward feminism.
