The United States constitution is often considered one the greatest documents written in history. James Madison crafted the basis of the United States, with the principles that outlines the “supreme law of the United States” ( ). This would have not been possible without such a calculated and efficient document. The constitution outlines the functions of the United States government, a system which consists of three branches; the legislative, judicial, and executive branch. This creates a system of checks and balances where one branch oversees the other two and attempt to detain them from abusing their powers.
Mexican Americans have immigrated and emigrated to Americas since before the Mexican American war of 1848. Immigration of Chicanos has been happening for a very long time, but the only difference is that it is now becoming a problem. Before the border was created Mexicans would legally cross to America, with no immigration problems, until 1924. When the border was created, Mexicans and Chicanos no longer has access to their old Chicano lives. Children continue to illegally be brought to America in search of better opportunities.

This issue has been getting worse and worse now that time has gone by. Whereas some are convinced that we need to militarize our border and secure it, others maintain that there should be some form of amnesty given to those who are already here in the U.S. illegally. It appears that neither side of this debate has a concrete solution to this problem.
Millions of people are always crossing the borders of the United States as immigrants. To curb illegal immigration in 1986, the then government under the stewardship of President Ronald Reagan established the Immigration Reform and Control Act. It provided amnesty to all skilled illegal immigrants who were in the country before 1 January 1982 (Hanson, 2005, p. 347). The amnesty period was to last until 1988. By the end of the amnesty period, more than 3 million illegal immigrants had successfully applied for amnesty (Hanson, 2005, p. 347).
To the people who live here in the united states hearing illegal immigrants, they automatically think “mexicans” or as should be called hispanics. To those who known that they are coming here illegally or know that they are already here, they know them as hard workers, family oriented people, people who want better than what they had in their country. The united states is not really impacted by illegal immigration in a way that they make it sound. They are the ones who are helping the U.S. in jobs no one want to do as in working in the farms and picking crops.
El PASO, Texas— While President Trump is focused on immigrants crossing the border illegally, people that live in Mexico who are U.S citizens and Mexican students cross the border legally to come to work and school. According to the city of El Paso international the three bridges that connects El Paso and Ciudad Juarez, operate 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Thousands of people cross both ways over the border every day.
Did you know that almost ⅓ of the U.S population is made up of immigrants. Immigrants are the major producers in many companies. Almost all the companies have immigrants as workers. If they were to leave then those companies would suffer greatly. Immigrants do have an impact on everybody's daily lives.

Some think it’ll help the economy, and the others think that it’s affecting the economy, but in reality, immigration has been beneficial to a degree, but there are negative effects as well. A topic that is always discussed in America is with the increasing number of immigrants will there be an increase of terrorist attacks? Multiple people say yes, because of the previous terrorist attacks by Muslim.
Immigration is a widely discussed topic. Illegal immigration and granting citizenship to undocumented immigrants is a controversial issue. Many believe that immigrants benefit the economy and brings needed skills to the workplace. Others think that illegal immigrants should be detained and deported for entering the country illegally. Some even think that trying to deport immigrants is not a good use of the nation´s resources.
Putting aside opposing viewpoints, “illegal aliens” are human beings chasing the universal dream of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. But, achieving this dream is made impossible because of the limitations enforced by current immigration policies. President Obama’s Administration is making active strides on the issue, but a Republican Congress makes it an obstacle for President Obama to pass any policy regarding immigration. Although immigration can propose complications, the government should be less restrictive because of the economic, cultural and educational benefits stemming from immigration. Not all “Mexicans” are rapists, criminals or cartel associates.
The United States of America, being a country founded by immigrants, is known all over the world as the land of great opportunities. People from all walks of life travelled across the globe, taking a chance to find a better life for them and their family. Over the years, the population of immigrants has grown immensely, resulting in the currently controversial issue of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants are the people who have overstayed the time granted on their US, visa or those who have broken the federal law by crossing the border illegally. Matt O’Brien stated in his article “The government thinks that 10.8 million illegal immigrants lived in the country in January 2009, down from a peak of nearly 12 million in 2007.”(Para, 2) While some argue that illegal immigrants burden the United States of America and its economy, others believe that they have become essential and are an important part of the US, economy.
