Argumentative Essay: Cop Brutality

Cop Brutality has been a growing topic in the news these last couple of years. It’s been getting so big that it’s made its way over to the entertainment world; such as the National Football League, where the star quarterback Colin Kaepernick from the San Francisco Forty Niners kneels to the National Anthem in means of protest. This is really how cop brutality got my attention even more so. First of all, the NFL should mainly be for entertainment purposes and not politics which is why Colins tactics made me think that the situation must be growing, and at a fast pace too. This is not good. I care about it because these are our people from the same country fighting against each other. It’s an amazing suburban town where there’s not much going on. There’s really not much controversy either between our cops and the residents of Broomfield because for the most part we can all get along pretty well, which in my opinion is not hard to do. I myself have never encountered a real problem with cops either, even outside of Broomfield. Except for my years in high school when “twelve”, which was our nickname for cops, would love to take the fun away from us almost every weekend by busting our social event house parties. Obviously Cops busting our weekend parties pales in comparison to the real problems between the cops and it’s people in other cities but it's still the same concept of two sides not seeing eye to eye, just at a lower degree. My point in this is that there’s always going to be two sides no matter what. Anyone can make a strong case for both but we need to evaluate the overall situation as honest as we can or it would be impossible to get a true outcome.
