Most americans would jump on the opportunity to earn more money right? A great number of americans would say yes. However, if americans were asked if they wanted to go to college, less people would say yes. The reality is that making more money and attending college are almost the same thing, therefore, everyone should be answering yes and yes. College has many benefits for those who choose to go, which is why college is worth the money.

In Nick McCrea author of “College Degrees Get You Dollars, But What Else?”, Philip Trostle, an economics professor from the University of Maine, found in data that people who attain bachelor’s degrees are 72 percent more likely to have a retirement plan, 21 percent more likely to get married, 61 percent less likely to get divorced, and 5 times less likely to end up in jail or prison. Liberal arts schools provide an opportunity for students to gain a solid foundation for life beyond financial stability by making students more likely to stay out of trouble, and to get married. More jobs today are requiring more knowledge and skills than what the job description explicitly says.
