Keeping Guns Away From Schools
So far this year there has been 52 school shootings, with 30 people killed and 53 others injured. Guns should be away from school because innocent people and kids are being killed. Children should be living a long and happy life. But, why do they do this? How can we stop future shootings from happening? There are many reasons why people take guns to school and shoot or threaten others. “Different shootings follow different types of patterns” says Science of Us. For example high school shootings are usually different from college shootings. Quite a lot of the shooters “experience rejection all the time,” said Katherine Newman. If they do experience rejection they do this to reach out to bring attention to their problem/problems. Students that bring guns to school and threaten or kill other students could experience this or bullying. They could bring a gun to scare the bully so they can’t bully them anymore. But, the main reason why people do this is because they want to get back at those how had hurt them before. Many people want to stop these shootings and keep schools safer, but how do we do this? No one has the right to take the lives of others especially if they are young children who have not lived their lives. Their parents won’t see them grow up, they won’t have kids to play and have fun with. Our schools should be safe enough that these things don’t happen. We should have better security systems to keep the students and staff safe and protected. Could another influence to gun violence in schools be that guns are legal in the United States?
