Most students who go to college have to pay back a ton in loans. What if there weren’t as many student loans to pay back? College should be more affordable. Some great students might not be able to go because of the cost factor as of today. Three reasons to defend this are: colleges are more about making profits than educating; most jobs will require a postsecondary education later on; and college is more important but also more expensive today than it used to be. My first point to prove is that colleges are making huge profits. Colleges are more about making profits than educating for a fair price. “A recent analysis the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland made found that tuition revenue per student at public 4-year colleges went from $5,700 to $9,300. At the other end of the education spectrum, the percentage of jobs requiring a high school diploma or less will continue to shrink.
