When it starts later in the day it will save up to $40 million per year. Kids can get a lot more sleep at night. Absences can drop 15% because many kids get more sleep. Snow days, are they over? Snow days are soon going to be replaced with E-days. E-days are days that you have to stay home because of the harsh weather so instead of staying home and watching tv, you can learn from home. So with that said, I think that E-days are a good idea. This essay will explain to the reader that E-days are a good idea because they 1.help save money, 2.
(Kotchen and Grant 8). The evidence acknowledges that daylight savings was supposed to save energy but instead it consumes more. Although the increase is only 1 percent it is considered highly statistically significant. The
“...Teens to show up to class before 8 a.m. start time beginning is not good for their health or their report cards.” This was once stated by scientists. Many schools in Seattle believe that later start times in schools will lead to better grades on report cards. Associated Press has written an article called “More zzz’s can lead to more A’s: Seattle schools move start time for teens” to inform people about what is going on in Seattle about the later start times in schools.
The argument of daylight saving time’s worth is one that has sparked controversy all over America. Some think that daylight saving time should be eliminated because it holds no value in society; however, others believe that it does good for the citizens of earth. People keep arguing back and forth, with the help of substantial evidence from both sides, and a clear winner has not been claimed. While some may argue that daylight saving time is doing more harm than good, it is beneficial in several ways.
Daylight Saving Time Daylight saving time (DST) is the time which is adjusted to achieve longer evening daylight, in summer, by setting the clocks an hour ahead of the standard time. Typically, regions with summertime adjust clocks forward one hour close to the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn to standard time. The idea of daylight saving time was first conceived by William Willett, a builder of average wealth.
Losing sleep is never fun, and Daylight Saving Time (DST) doesn’t help. This practice really needs to go, and there are plenty of reasons why. The most obvious one is inconvenience. Resetting clocks and fixing schedules is extremely irritating, not to mention losing that comfortable hour of sleep in the spring. Productivity is also lowered because those few minutes spent changing clocks could have been spent doing something else, like homework.
We all have to deal with the times changing during daylight saving time. Personally, I think it is not easy adjusting to the change in time. It is a controversial topic on many parts of the world. Some say daylight saving time benefits the world. Although, there are many issues due to this event.

Implementing Four-Day School Weeks A student spends approximately six hours per day at school, customarily five days per week, not including any sort of extracurricular activities. Students frequently complain about having to go to school for so much time, and not getting much time off. Others could argue that six hours a day and five days a week is necessary to learn all one needs to learn in a school week, this is not necessarily true. However, a school should compensate for lost time by adding time to the end of another day that week if they found this to be an issue.
I’m pretty sure most people hate getting up super early in the morning to get to school. Am I right? Well I think it’s the worst! In my opinion, I think school should start later because it is better for one’s health and it’s better for students’ concentration in class.
21% of teen motor vehicle accidents are caused by drowsy driving. Many teens everyday are complaining about their school start times being way too early. Debate essay Ask anyone and I’m pretty sure they would tell you they want longer weekends. Students start looking forward to 3pm on Friday the minute their alarm wakes them up on Monday morning. Weekends are opportunities for students to let go of stress and to focus on the activities they enjoy. Some people just want longer weekends because they’re too lazy or busy. Longer weekends would make school more and exciting for students because it would give them more opportunities for self-directed work.
Curfews Curfews are thought of as a great way to stop children from being out during the night, and doing something they shouldn’t. But what if I told you they do very little to stop crime among youth, and can punish innocent teens and parents. A study in low-class neighborhoods of Washington DC found that after a new curfew was put in place, incidences of gun violence did not get better at all. In one incident, a teenager named Isaiah Smith was throwing a football with his friend on the way back to his house, and was punished for breaking curfew. Also, curfew fines average to cost five hundred dollars, and all that money is obviously paid by the parents.
