With Medical Marijuana currently presented in 23 states, marijuana is beginning to grow its acceptance which has surfaced its way for the legalization of recreational marijuana. The United States Government has voted to outlaw refinement, dissemination and proprietorship of marijuana and makes it a Schedule 1 drug. Which a Schedule 1 drug describes as no medical value and a high potential for abuse. District of Columbia and Twenty-three states have now documented right to use of medical marijuana, and canvass methods to validate recreational marijuana have gained some tractions in addition.

In my opinion, there has been a successful decrease in crime rate and an increase in job opportunities in the states of Colorado and Washington. A huge decrease in violent acts which a lot of murders and crimes are over drugs and less number of people get themselves in certain situations if they legalize the drug all throughout America. A Utilitarian would argument the health effects with other products that harms the human body and disagree why certain products, such as smoking tobacco and alcohol, can lead to having health problems but they are legal for sale in public. Yes, marijuana is an addictive drug, so is cigarette and obviously is alcohol and beer. The Utilitarian would also mentioned while looking on the government side that legalizing the drug would save approximately 7.7 billion dollars per year in government expenditure on enforcement of prohibition. With 5.3 billion of it would save state and local governments, 2.4 billion would accrue to the federal government
