What are drugs? A drug is any substance that changes the way a person thinks, feels, sees or behaves (Briggs 2005). Any sort of substances are said to be mental active because it work on the mind. Drug is often call “illegal street” drugs there are many different kinds of drugs. For example, perkaset, values, hydrocodein prescription pain medications to the street drugs are like cocaine it’s a daily use, it is known as of drugs.

Examples such as alcohol, caffeine and nicotine, from cough medicine to aspirin to prescription pain medications to street drugs like cocaine are so often used, they are seldom thought of drugs. The chemicals can reduce the amount of oxygen that your baby needs. Oxygen is an important element for helping your baby to grow healthy. Smoking can also damage your baby's lungs (Lewis, July 2007). Babies born to women who smoke during pregnancy are more to be born, with birth flaws such as cleft lip or palate, prematurely, at low birth weight, underweight for the number of weeks of pregnancy. It is a well-known fact that smoking and inhaling second-hand smoke cause cancer both harmful for an unborn baby. Each cigarette smoked by a pregnant woman denies the unborn baby of 20 minutes of the proper amount of oxygen needed by the baby to grow and develop. Most people know that smoking causes cancer, heart disease, and other major health problems. Women who smoke during pregnancy put themselves and their unborn babies at risk for other health problems. The danger to smoking during pregnancy includes premature birth, certain birth defects, and infant death (Lewis, July 2007). Smoking makes it harder for a woman to get pregnant.
