Student Debt Destroying Dreams
In 2017, according to Studentloanhero, there was a total of 1.45 trillion dollars worth of student loan debt. There was 44.2 million Americans with student loan debt. If someone is choosing a big and prestigious college, without a decently paid ride or full ride, it will be costly. This leaves students with massive debt, even after college. But, for those high school kids that are just now getting out, the majority are usually planning to attend to college after high school, and that can be a rough talk with parents sometimes, for people wanting to go to university.
A program to reduce or eliminate debt, promote free college, and have ways to support low-income families, must be implemented to solve these various issues. Primarily, the fact that college will leave people with an insurmountable amount of debt afterwards. Furthermore, free college will relieve many students of stress since they know they will be able to attend. Lastly, helping families with financial issues could also be another solution for those that are almost able to afford it, but not quite.

The fact that students can also attend community college is also a possibility for the poorer families, and that makes no need for free college. The other argument made is that the richer population will be attending 4 years of more expensive tuitions. I still think that these issues are not justified enough to stop the push for free college. The point is to help families or people that want to go to a good university, without having student loans haunting them all their life. Community College could still be a possibility, although having free college will give students that cannot afford it, the experience of university and being able to have a good college
