Teenage pregnancy is a teenage girl usually at the age thirteen to nineteen who becomes pregnant. Teenage pregnancy and abortion is a serious issue in our society today. Abortion and teenage pregnancy is a controversial issue in our society. Long ago in the 1990’s the average of teenage pregnancy was at a very low rate. The rate among teenagers dropped during the period of 1991-1998. The ratio for abortion among teenagers went down around the early 1980s and mid-1990s. But as the years goes by the average started going higher and higher with each year. In 2012, a total of 305,388 babies were born to teenagers. A teenager’s life should be filled with joy and freedom, and not held down with responsibilities that a teenager did not want. A teenager is not yet ready to take care of a child, hence a teenager cannot fully take care of themselves yet. A teenager is still dependent on their parents to do everything. Family members are the one that contributes to a soul values and attitude, especially with teenage pregnancy. Teenagers whose family has had a history of teenage pregnancy then there is a high possibility that the teenager would get pregnant. If a teenager’s mother was a teen mom, there is a high possibility that the daughter will become a teenage mom. If a teenager older sister was a teenage mom, then the younger sister might be a teenage mom.
