Argumentative Essay Thomas sits in the stiff, cold hospital bed sleeping and waking up occasionally to cough. He begins to get short of breath immediately and starts to gasp for air. As he waits nervously for the results from his MRI, a tall, young doctor walks in with a look of unfortunate news on his face. Thomas’ wife stands next to the bed and grabs his hand for what is to come. The doctor slowly breaks the news to this 75-year-old couple. Thomas was diagnosed with lung cancer, and it had already spread too much for there to be a cure. He would be put on bed rest in the hospital until there would be a further notice. The next week Thomas past away. His grandchildren, still young, would not see their grandfather ever again. Thomas will never see and feel the joy of experiencing his grandchildren grow into successful adults. All because he smoked a pack of cigarettes a day. …show more content…
